Now to be worn happily on my right ring finger.

The garnet was reset into a pendant and my diamond is of course in its permanent platinum setting.

The end

I had my wedding band resized last week. Picked it up today.

I know it's been over two years, and the whole time, this ring has always felt just a bit too loose, particularly when I am cold. It put me in the position of removing it frequently because I'm afraid it will fall off or whatever.

Anyway I went to a jeweler downtown and they took it down a half size for me, to 5 1/2. It now fits perfectly. I may even wear it to sleep! Yeah it was that bad.

I am also in love with one of the rings in their window: a round amethyst solitaire. I don't have very much jewelry, in fact the only rings I own are my wedding set and the silver Ren Faire ring I got 12 years ago for $10. Oh and a cheap mother-of-pearl cocktail ring I got last year and don't even wear that often.

I showed this amethyst ring to Brian the other day, and said, hey isn't the five-year anniversary of our first date coming up soon? Hmm how interesting. I know, evil.

Anyway. Today has been very nice. Perfect weather, sunny, some very high clouds. Mild. Husband is asleep on the couch with the cat. I should take a picture.
