a vivid and continuous dream

My stupid cat almost just seriously hurt himself.

From what I can piece together, Simon jumped up to the stove and in the process, his hind foot turned the burner he was standing over to full blast. I hear him jumping down to the floor, see him running past me, and I also hear the flame going and smell burning fur.

I ran in to shut off the burner, and then hurried to check on Simon, who was all freaked out. He had singed the tip of almost every hair on his chest and inner forelegs. DUMBASS. The smell was awful, and little ashes of the tips of his coat came off in my hands. He didn't burn any skin, or his whiskers, but his fur will look funny for awhile.

Goddammit.

I put him in the bedroom to think about what he did.

And yes, I gave him many hugs and pets and smooches. But still. Dumb cat.
